Canvas Discussion Redesign Goes Live 7/20/2024

For experienced Canvas users, a redesign of asynchronous Discussions offers new features with a different look and feel.

A new “redesign” of the asynchronous discussions tool in Canvas is scheduled to replace the current “legacy” by mid-summer, so Tech Support is implementing it effective with the start of the summer term so that the transition will be easier to adapt to. The redesign offers a different look and feel but maintains the same functionalities with some new features introduced in the following materials: a PDF document and a screencast.

Coming in the near future: Canvas will be providing “checkpoints” for discussions– multiple due dates that encourage students to participate on a timely basis.
